The Application of Remote Sensing to the Study of Water Environment of East Taihu Lake
    Li Dongtian
    REMOTE SENSING FOR LAND & RESOURCES. 1989, 1 (2): 8-14.   DOI: 10.6046/gtzyyg.1989.02.02
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (2121KB) ( 1556 )

The multidate and multistage satellite images and airphotos are used in the study of the deterioration of water environment in East Taihu Lake. By combining multidate images of RS with the data of water level on-the-spot, the three-dimensional analysis of lake basin is suggested, and the interpretations of developments in flow behavior, water quality, aquatic plants, and in the engineering of reclamations, dikes, canals, and floodgates have been made. It is believed that the deterioration is one of the main factors of , the grim situation of flood which is increasingly serious in that area. In 31 years (1954-1985), because of reclamation and silting, the area of the lake had been reduced to 66%, the total volume reduced to about 30%, and the flood storage had been reduced to about 60%, in addition to the drainage capacity reduced to about 60-70% in the high-water season, that’s caused by diked marshes, silt dunes, and reeds. The deterioration of East Taihu Lake also related to the rapid breeding of aquatic plants, and the eutrophication may arise. It is estimated that East Taihu Lake will be separated from the main body of Taihu Lake by 2000-2010, owing to the growth of Dongjiaozui silt dune, and as a result, the Taipu canal which is the main drainage project of Taihu Lake will lose its efficiency. A tentative idea of synthetical scheme including both engineering and ecological project is proposed.

DIGITAL IMAGE INTEGRATION TECHNIQUE OF MULTIPLE GEOSCIENCE INFORMATION SYSTEM & ITS APPLICATION ON SHENGYUAN BASIN
Liu Dechang, Zou Jingke, Sun Maorong, Wang Guojuan
    REMOTE SENSING FOR LAND & RESOURCES. 1989, 1 (2): 29-37,57.   DOI: 10.6046/gtzyyg.1989.02.05
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (1314KB) ( 3213 )

Using computer image integration technique, the multiple geoscience information such as geological, remote sensing, hydtogeological, geophysical and geochemical informations are comprehensively processed The technique consists of the information input, registration, interpolation, and the enhancement, decomposition, abstraction, classification, overlay and combination process procedures. This technique has been tested on Shengyuan Basin. The Geological environment of the basin was studied by image enhancement and overlay technique. It is suggested that the basin was a volcanic centre of central eruption during the late jurassic and was superimposed by polygonal block-faulting during Cretaceous, forming a ring-block model of ore-field structure. The U, Th, K distribution pattern and its geological. significance have been analyzed using the decomposition and overlay technique of image information. It has been pointed out that the above pattern .is. controlled by the stratigraphic-structural factors, esp cially the high-content field of uranium, besides the NE and EW trending faults, the SN trending. fault-system is of great: importance in controlling the distribution of uranium in the region. On the basis of compositing and abstracting the prospecting criteria the target areas have been preliminarily selected. An information classification was used for the general evaluation of uranium resources in Shengyuan Basin With the help of the information procesing technique on computer some new insights about basic geological problem in this previously well-studied region have been obtained. Six promising areas have been selected and tested. Based on the research work mentioned above, a comprehensive technique system of multiple geological information image integration for uranium resource evaluation has been preliminarily established.

The conditional smoothing filter is a nonlinear filter, which can hot only highlights the low frequency information, but also preserves useful edges and compresses blurning effect of smoothing filter by setting a threshold to control the smoothing possess, It is a useful pre-processing method for image classfi cation and information extraction. This paper presented the .principle and algorithm of this method and its implementation in S101 image processing system. Two examples are given to illustrate its application to remote sensing image processing.

A NEW METHOD TO MEASURE AND CALCULATE FARMLAND AREA BY AERIAL REMOTE SENSING TECHNIQUE
    Yu Xianping
    REMOTE SENSING FOR LAND & RESOURCES. 1989, 1 (2): 47-51.   DOI: 10.6046/gtzyyg.1989.02.08
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (335KB) ( 822 )

The inventory of accurate area of farmland is one of the major tasks for land use investigation and detailed land investigation. The normal method is in situ measurement, and the work amount is enormous, with huge employment of manpower and high cost. This paper introduces a new effective method to measure and calculate farmland area by using aerial remote sensing technique. The method establishes regression equation of linear objects on air photos to revise the values that are directly measured on air photos for various patches of farmland with a surveying magnifier, and thus accurate farmland areas could be obtained. This method can. satisfy the demand for accuracy of detailed land invertigation with large scale air photos, save large amount of cost, and greatly elavate survey efficiency. The method allow indoor checking and revison for each patch of farmland.

    Cao ShuHu
    REMOTE SENSING FOR LAND & RESOURCES. 1989, 1 (2): 58-64.   DOI: 10.6046/gtzyyg.1989.02.10
    Abstract   HTML   PDF (1951KB) ( 893 )

To meet the requirement of the Ministry of Water Resource (MWR) the State Science and Technology commission has developed a remote sensing applied test for flood control at the lower reaches of Huanghe River during recent flood season by some units co-operation. The remote sensing system for real time monitoring flood danger condition and. losses situation is seted up. This system consists of two parts that are independent each other as well as close relative. One is real time airborne remote sensing image and water level data transmission system of Huanghe River. Another is flood contral data base of Huanghe River’s flood basin. The real time transmission system consists of the airborne remote sensing system, the automatic water level measure station, the transmissive station of airborne remote sensing image and water level data, the communication satellite and microwave link and data procesing center. The flood control data base includs natural and economic data, such as DTM Land use, residental site and ete. The remote. sensing image and water level data received from the aircragt are transmitted to the Beijing and Zhengzhou by transmission links. One line dynamic image is transmitted to the Beijing through the microwave communication link. Another link is the communication sattelite by which the static image and water level data are relaid to Beijing. By flood control data base call, queckly look up inunderted area and losses. The experiment met with success on August 22th 1988. The completion of this system will help the headquarter of flood control to see the floodsite .over thousands kilometer away and can understand the Water level .data and its change, thus the headquarter can, make the precise judgement and take emergency measure to reduce tile losses of the life and Poperty of. the people. Besides we have researched application of NOAA images on flood control and have made TM photo-maps
