Abstract In this paper, the authors deal with the aim and significance of the post-remote sensing application technology (PRSAT) and describe its content as well as the achievements it has made. Practice shows that the post-remote sensing application technology has greater utilization value and application effect than the single remote sensing technology. The idea of the extension of remote sensing application derived from PRSAT is also worth consideration in other research domains of earth science.
