Abstract：A new method of surveying Profile and setting up digital terrain model with ground photos is put forward in this paper. Some formulae are inferred and working procedure of surveying section and setting up digital terrain model is concluded. The inferred formulae are very simple and regular because of adopting independent base coordinate system, and it is very convenient to define the points when the section was surveyed and to detemine model data when the digital terrain model were set up. The method of surveying section under bridge stereoscope is also discussed in this paper, and it is useful for the units which have the work presented in this paper to be done but no instruments.
