Abstract Taking SPOT and TM fused imagery as remote sensing information source, water and soil loss on the 1:50 000 has been investigated in Laogaochuan area of Gushanchuan river basin. This paper analyzed the main factors affect water and soil Loss of small river basin, pointed out that RS and GIS integration is a developing tendency for speed investigation of Water and Soil Loss in small river basin.
