Abstract  

This paper discribed concisely the necessity of renewing old geological maps, and presented the importance of remote sensing technology in geological mapping of a new generation of China for improving the geographical base map's reality, identifying the classification system of geological unites, providing informations of stratigraph, structure, intrusive body, and discovering some important geological body and geological phenomenon that cann't be founded by normal methods. It has been outlined in general how remote sensing data are selected in geological mapping of a new generation.
