A Comprehensive Study of Applying Remote Sensing in the Evaluation of Mineral Resource Potential: A Case Study of the Remote Sensing Application in Shanxi Province

Abstract  With the theory of regional geology and mineralization as the basis,the authors summarized the relationship between large-scale regional faults and mineralization,and put forward a regional prospecting model of remote sensing based on interpretation and study of remote sensing information composed of ore-controlling linear structure elements and circular structure elements,color tone anomalies,prospecting criteria and near-ore wall rock alterations. On such a basis,the minimum areas of mineral prediction are delineated as the further prospecting targets. These results will provide important clues and basis for the potential assessment of mineral resources,and will lay a foundation for future remote sensing geological work in Shanxi Province.
