Abstract On the basis of processing, interpretation and field inspection of fusion images of TM and airborne γ-spectra data, the potash-alteration zones and low-thorium secondary granitic intrusions are recognized and their distribution information are extracted in Xiazhuang uranium orefield. It is proved that the uranium metallogenesis has close genetic and spatial relationship with potash-alteration fault zone and low-THsecondary intrusion. In addition, according to clue of ringed image and based on researching into the event of dome structure uplift that generated after major intrusion consolidation, it is pointed out that the mantle plume had been existed in this region. The mantle plume tectonic process caused a series of geological processes and it is the essential background for forming the uranium orefiled.
