Abstract When researching into the relationship among underground water, soil water and rainfall, combining with climate data, we put forward the view that soil water is mainly supplied by under ground water. Because microwave is sensitive to the water content in soil, it's possible to probe water resource underground with radarsat remote sensing. With this idea, we select an arid area located in Alashanzuoqi Inner Mongulia for test, the result is reasonable and good.
