Construction of the geological surveying information grid node: A case study in Southwest China |

Abstract In order to attain geological data accessing and sharing on different platforms and regions and to establish geological spatial information sharing and application service system, China Geological Survey used the GridGIS technology to build China Geological Survey Information Grid Platform and deployed nearly 10 nodes across the country on the basis of the network superlarge distributed GIS software. Through the effective organization and management of mass data, China Geological Survey realized geological space service and sharing of information resources in different regions in the heterogeneous environment. The construction of the geological surveying information grid node in Southwest China has really achieved very good results. The results achieved by China Geological Survey not only verify the feasibility of grid platform for data sharing but also provide reference for further construction of grid nodes.
