Abstract

Since the CBERS-02B satellite launched successfully data of which widely used in several fields in the plain areas. After 2008-05-12 earthquake 02B satellite had captured the image data from the second day after the earthquake-13th May to 14th June, which provided the period conditions image for emergency disasters rescue of varies organizations. This paper introduce the interpretation results of dammed river disasters caused be 5.12 earthquake in the Jian river basin- the most serious disaster region suffered from the earthquake by using 02BCCD compared with EIM image before the earthquake. 54 sections of river each 120.6m~2665.8m in length had been interpreted and the relation between the distribution of dammed lakes and Yingxiu-Beichuan great thrust faults were analyzed. With 02B image combined with other high resolution satellite the large scale geological disasters can be interpreted.
