Abstract Abstract Songpan-Ganzi orogenic zone has long been known as“Bermuda in Geology of China”.Interpretation of TM satellite image in association with information of the landforms,drainage distribution pattern and neotectonism reveals a whirl structure centering around Danba on the eastern side of this orogenic zone.This has been verified by the stratigraphic information,metamorphic trait,fold shape and fracture pattern.The paper makes an approach to its formation and evolutionary process.
