Abstract Hami-Alashankou section in Xinjiang of the Asia-Europe Continent Bridge is one of the main railway lines where the danger of geological disaster is the most serious. In this paper, authors analysis quickly and systematically the types, characteristics, geological background, climate and hydrology situation, stimulating factors and distributing law of the geological disasters in this area according to the results of remote sensing geological interpretation and survey, classify geologic disaster types and areas of combined distribution, and also put forward primary suggestion of evalution and prevention and cure.
